A noise can be perceived both physiologically and psychologically. We perceive most noises physiologically when we simply hear them. When we take the time to listen to a noise, we are doing this psychologically. We perceive a physiological noise when we subconsciously feel vibrations of the sound waves with the particles of our physical body whereas psychological noise refers to noise that impacts our conscious awareness and shifts our attention, rather than letting it filter through the subconscious.
